Dear Diary,
Today Outside My Window... it is a scorcher! Supposed to be near 100 this fine July 4th!
I will try to be more... actively creative.
I am thinking… about building a new desk
I will learn… more strumming patterns on the ukulele.
I am thankful for… my quiet time and my measley paycheck.
I will nourish myself by… reading more!
I am creating… a new calm within myself.
I am going… to be happy
I am reading… Wicked.
I am hoping… that someday I will learn to trust again.
I am hearing… illegal fireworks in every neighborhood.
Around the house… I am reinvigorated
One of my favorite things… will start to bring me financial freedom
A few plans for the rest of the week... will be to stay committed to something... anything.

A creative outlet
Well, work does allow me a few creative outlets. This is the final outcome of a sketch I did for a military installation. The basics:
I get a photograph, create a stylized portrait sketch of the individual and then send it off to have a magnesium plate created from it.
I guess it is cool to know that my 'work' is hanging in the halls of the Pentagon. I'll scrounge around and find some others to post here as well.
Ta-ta for now!!
Here is a sketch I found - another military piece...

Dear Diary,
Today Outside My Window... the sun is finally shining, though I didn't see it most of the day - I still appreciate that it is there!
I will try to be more... calm when confronted with the chaos at work.
I am thinking… I will cut another few inches off the length of my hair.
I will learn… to play guitar one day.
I am thankful for… my job, even though I really don't like it sometimes.
I will nourish myself by… reading more!
I am creating… a healthier body by changing my dietary habits.
I am going… to sell the things that are no longer of use to me.
I am reading… more than I thought I ever would again.
I am hoping… that someday I will learn to trust again.
I am hearing… the echoes of depression and am doing my best to deal with them.
Around the house… I am uninspired.
One of my favorite things… feels lost forever.
A few plans for the rest of the week... will be to stay committed to something... anything.

The end of a week 2.6.09
Dear Diary
Today Outside My Window I was glad to hear the birds chirping merrily, waiting to be fed at the feeder.
I will try to be more patient when faced with the ignorance of others.
I am thinking about tiling the countertops myself instead of getting a solid surface top (which will save me thousands I am sure) But, I am feeling lazy and really don't have the energy to take on such a daunting project. Perhaps, when the time comes, I will have more of a desire to do it, we'll see.
I will learn how to be more energy efficient.
I am thankful for my job, even though they were worried about not having the money for payroll this week. At least I am still working when others are not.
I will nourish myself by eating more raw food.
I am creating a positive attitude, even though I am currently faced with some frightening financial woes.
I am going to take another trip to the hardware store, this time I will get EVERYthing for tiling the floor.
I am reading Stephanie Marr, and really enjoying it!
I am hoping that we'll be ready when the cabinets get delivered. Countdown has begun.
I am hearing the misery that is 20/20, don't they ever do 'pleasant' stories?
Around the house I am confronted with problems that need attention that is LONG overdue.
One of my favorite things lately has been getting some quiet reading time. Even though there are many people that can't accept my choices.
A few plans for the rest of the week will be to get the plumbing moving along, the wood flooring pulled up, the layout mapped and the tile bought.
Thank you and good night.

At the reflecting pond...
I am trying something new today.
I adopted from another blogger and edited to suit me.
Because I know that I need organization (okay, a little OCD here)
Something to kick start my internal conversation -
for lack of more creative prose, and
just to put a name on it for now - I'll call it:

Change
Some days you and I go mad.
Our bellies get stuffed full,
Hearts break, minds snap.
We can't go on the old way so
We change. Our lives pivot,
Forming a mysterious geometry.
-Lao Tzu, 365 Tao, Deng Ming-Dao
I must remember to engage life.
Moving forward.

In Search of Inspiration
Like many artists, I find myself with 'artist block'.
To be quite honest I have begun to refer to it as
AHS: Artist Hiatus Syndrome
I have been battling depression for a while now and
I believe it is, in part, because of my lack of a
creative outlet. I have decided to take a stand!
From this moment on I shall reignite the fire in my
belly to get creative - my soul yearns for it, aches for
it... REQUIRES it.
I have been getting inspired by so many things lately.
I think it makes my heart ache all the more - the yearning
to start creating in a more dedicated fashion. Not just the
here-and-there odd jobs I have been known to do lately.
I've made so many promises to people and now I have
started to deliver - albeit in small increments. But it has
started to lift the weight of darkness I have felt for so long.
Home life notwithstanding, things are improving and I can
only hope that they continue to do so. With my renewed
passion for change, I hope to become healthier in spirit
by the only way that works for me... being creative.
I hope you stick with me on my journey - oh great Universe.
here goes...
